I want you to take a moment with my paintings, peering in, noticing, escaping to a
world of wonky chairs, soft encompassing beds, lit windows and branches which
stretch out to touch you. A world where you can rest…finally
My making stems from my personal overwhelm with the news, politics and social
media, I adapt photos from my archive to create collaged compositions, representing
scenes which don’t exist, as an escape. Interested in the small mundane moments I
observe daily.
The intimacy provided by working of small surfaces is integral, allowing the viewer
to have a private moment, to step forward and peer into these small notations of
daily life.
These paintings provide quiet place to land.
